“My daughter Ella is 9 years old and in the 3rd grade. She has always struggled with math, and I knew it was time to find someone that could help her now so that she didn’t start falling behind over the next few years. By some miracle, I decided to go on YouTube and the first video I clicked on happened to be one of Kabo’s YouTube videos and noticed that she’s a tutor! I had this feeling from the moment I heard her voice and her gentle reassuring tone that Ella would absolutely love her. Ella has ADHD and struggles with anxiety so just the thought of math is a bit of a trigger for her, but something about Kabo gave me hope that the two of them would work well together, and I was right! We’re all the way in California, so I was a bit worried that Kabo being in South Africa may make for a scheduling challenge, but Kabo adjusted her schedule to work with whatever we needed, which was so appreciated.
Now for the actual tutoring…We immediately started seeing improvement in Ella’s math grades and reports from her teachers. Ella gained confidence in her multiplication facts! After just a couple of months of weekly tutoring sessions, Ella is getting A’s in math. She’s finishing her quizzes and tests before most of the other students and we couldn’t be more happy with the investment we made in selecting Kabo as her tutor. Kabo is absolutely wonderful. She reassured Ella of how well she was doing with each correct answer. Each time I would listen in and hear Kabo say “Brilliant Ella”, my heart was so happy. Kabo even reached out to me when needed to try to learn how best to re-focus Ella’s attention when she was struggling.
